Assessment Day allows a dedicated time period for Huntingdon College to assess its students. The results from Assessment Day are used for a variety of purposes which include, but are not limited to:
The Major Field Tests (MFTs) and other Huntingdon College institutional major tests are comprehensive undergraduate outcomes assessments designed to measure the basic, critical knowledge obtained and understanding achieved by students in a major field of study. The results of these tests will help each program evaluate its students' abilities to analyze and solve problems, understand relationships and interpret material from their major field of study.
The Loyalty Award is given each year at Commencement by the President of the College to the graduating student chosen by the senior class as the most loyal to the College, loyalty being interpreted broadly in terms of spirit and service.
The Julia Lightfoot Sellers Award is given each year at Commencement to the member of the teaching faculty who, in the judgement of the voting Junior and Senior classes, has done much this year toward inspiring them to nobility of purpose and intergrity of character, and rekindling within them a deeper desire for learning. (If you are uncertain as to your class standing with regard to voting for this award, please check your online student account to see what your official classification is. You must have completed a minimum of 57 hours to participate.)
The College Senior Survey helps to provide Huntingdon College with information on a broad range of student outcomes, such as feedback on students' academic and campus life experiences and on students' post-college plans immediately following graduation. The results of this survey can be used by Huntingdon for the following purposes: student assessment activities, accreditation and self-study reports, campus planning, and policy analysis.
The Graduating Senior Survey helps to provide Huntingdon College with feedback from each student regarding his/her personal experience during the student's time in the program, including experiences within the major.
The Your First College Year Survey is designed specifically to assess the academic and personal development of students over the first year of college, which will assist Huntingdon College in identifying features of the first year that encourage student learning, involvement, satisfaction, retention and success.
The Student Insight Survey is a short open-ended questionaire provided to gather individual student insight regarding Huntingdon College.
