General Registration Information

• The College reserves the right to make adjustments to students' schedules (e.g. meeting times, days, professors). Any adjustments of this nature will be reserved for classes which are identical in credit. The College also reserves the right to remove classes from students' schedules in cases such as cancellations, time conflicts, lack of prerequisites and lack of GPA requirements.
  
  
• Please note that classroom locations as printed on preregistration schedules are subject to change. Semester schedules with updated classroom locations will be posted online prior to the semester beginning.
  
  
• Freshman may not enroll in more than 17 hours during the first semester of attendance. After the first semester freshman year, a student wishing to take more than 18 hours must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the preceeding fall or spring semester.
  
  In unusual circumstances a student who does not meet this requirement may be permitted to take more than 18 hours with the appropriate approval:
  • Students needing more than 18 hours in one semester must have approval from the Provost and Dean of Faculty. Students should contact their academic advisor(s) or the Provost for information about the authorization process.
  • All approvals must be secured prior to coming to register. Without the appropriate approval, no more than 18 hours will be permitted.
  
  
  
• You are responsible for determining if you have met all prerequisites for courses in which enrollment is anticipated. Prerequisites are provided in the current College Catalog. If you are currently enrolled in a course that is a prerequisite for a course for which you plan to register and you do not successfully complete the prerequisite course, it is your responsibility to drop the course for which you pre-registered in the upcoming term.
  
  
• All Independent Study or Course by Conference forms will be due during the pre-registration period. The only other time you will be able to add an Independent Study or Course by Conference is during the regularly scheduled add period at the beginning of each semester. Forms will not be accepted throughout the term.
  
  
• Students registering for Studio/Private Instruction should contact the Chair of the Music Department regarding the appropriate course number and instructor. The course cannot be entered during pre-registration without the course number, instructor, and signature of the Music Department Chair.
  
  
• If registration in a course is to be taken on a Pass/No Credit, Audit, or Non-Credit Basis, the appropriate form must be completed, signed by your advisor(s), and submitted to the Registrar's Office with your enrollment card. These forms are available in the Registrar's Office.
  
  
• If a course is to be repeated, you must complete an Application to Repeat a Course form in order to receive the benefit of an improved grade. This should be done at the time of enrollment in the course to be repeated. This form is available in the Registrar's Office.
  
  
• It is extremely important that you indicate on your enrollment card the anticipated time of your completion of graduation requirements, i.e. your "Anticipated Graduation." This is an estimation of the semester in which your last term of attendance is planned and will identify you as a prospective graduate for a specific time.
  
  
• Students who plan to attend classes elsewhere, should complete either
  • the Consortium Agreement form (used by full-time students who plan to attend one class at either Auburn University Montgomery or Faulkner University during the Fall or Spring semesters), or
  • the Application to Earn Credit Elsewhere for Transfer to Huntingdon (used by current students (with either part-time or full-time status) during any semester for any institution).
  Credit from other institutions will not necessarily be granted for any course that is not specifically approved through this process in advance. Additional information and policies regarding these two options are available in the College catalog.

Pre-Registration Materials

Audit sheet information, which indicates all courses for which a student has been awarded credit or for which the student is currently enrolled, will be available online via each student's online account.

Enrollment cards will be available in the hallway outside the Office of the Registrar. Students should be sure to complete the entire card, using either black or blue ink, prior to coming to register to help eliminate delays. This includes all student information, Student Financial Services' approval, and the approval of all of the student's advisors.

Meeting with Your Advisor(s)

• Your advisor(s) must approve your course load prior to pre-registering with the Registrar's Office.
  • If you have more than one major, all advisors must approve your course load. Without signatures from all advisors, you will not be able to register.
  
  
• If you are changing your major or adding an additional major, you must either
  • return a completed Change/Add Major Form to the Registrar's Office at or before pre-registration, or
  • have your card signed by the advisor of the major currently on file with the Registrar's Office.
  
  
• If you are seeking P-12 or Secondary Certification, you must have the signature of the Chair of the Teacher Education Department or the Teacher Certification Officer on your enrollment card in addition to your major advisor(s). You should meet with your major advisor(s) for course load approval prior to your securing the signature of the Teacher Education Department Chair or Teacher Certification Officer.

Pre-Registration Schedules for Fall and Spring semesters

Dates for preregistration for each term are published in the first few pages of the College catalog.

Two weeks prior to the beginning of preregistration for Fall/Spring

Make an appt. to meet with advisor(s) Secure approval from Student Financial Services to register for classes Updated course offering available online Student audit sheets updated for use at advising appointments

Enrollment cards will only be taken between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Day 1 of Preregistration Week	Students with Senior standing (90 + completed hours) may register
Day 2 of Preregistration Week	Students with Junior or Senior standing (57 + completed hours) may register
Day 3 of Preregistration Week	Students with Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing (24 + completed hours) may register
Day 4 of Preregistration Week	Students with Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing (0 + completed hours) may register
Day 5 of Preregistration Week	Current Special (non-degree seeking), Transient, Readmitted and all other current students may register

No changes in enrollment for upcoming semesters will be processed after the initial registration until the regular add/drop period begins for that semester.

All Eligible Students, regardless of status, may register between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
