PETITIONS
Before deciding to file any petition, please keep in mind it is the responsibility of each student to keep apprised of current requirements for his/her particular program. Given this philosophy of the students' responsibility, it follows that a regulation will not be waived or an exception granted solely because a student pleads ignorance of the regulation or asserts that he/she was not personally informed of a specific requirement by an advisor or other College authority. The College also expects students to seek clarification about any information they receive, orally or in writing that appears to be in conflict with stated degree requirements and academic regulations before acting on this information.
Instructions for preparing and filing petitions: Read the instructions present on applicable form(s) before writing your explanations. Incomplete petitions will be returned to the student. Letters A through E below are placed for clarification purposes only.
- (A)Petition to Re-Evaluate Transfer Course(s)
Used if a student believes a course should have been awarded credit and was not. This form is not for the use of requesting substitutions. Students should use the Petition for a Substitution of a Major Requirement, available below. If the petition is in regard to courses taken at a technical institution that is not accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (or its counterparts throughout the country), then the student should use the Credit Evaluation Worksheet.
- (B)Petition for a Substitution of a Major Requirement
In order to satisfy a major requirement using a course different from the published requirement, students must complete this process and have it approved. The most frequent use of this form will be for those students who have received elective credit that is numbered 000. However, a student may submit a petition regardless of the number officially assigned to a transferred or institutional course.
- (C)Petition for a Waiver of a Graduation Requirement
Used to petition consideration to be permitted to omit a particular graduation requirement. Please note that if the student wishes to use a different class for a requirement, he/she should use the Substitution form above.
- (D)College Policy
Used to petition consideration to any College policy for which there is not a separate form. A Terminal Residency Petition should only be used to request to take more than one course outside of Huntingdon College in the last 30 hours.
- (E)Health Management Concentration Declaration

- (F)Religious Studies Minor Declaration
